PRELIMINARY COMPETITION GUIDELINES FOR MISS CONTESTANTS ONLY
Here are the submission guidelines for All Miss contestants:
Here are some guidelines that participants can follow to ensure a uniform, professional result when videotaping their performance.
1. Use a stable camera: Keep the camera steady and avoid handheld shots. Use a tripod if possible to prevent shaky footage.
2. Choose appropriate lighting: Ensure that lighting is adequate and not overpowering or underwhelming. Natural light is preferable, but if it is not possible, use a well-lit room.
3. Consider the background: Choose a clean and unobtrusive background. A plain wall or solid color backdrop might work well. No outside shots.
4. Check the audio: Test the audio to make sure you can be heard clearly. Consider using an external microphone if necessary.
5. Record in landscape mode: Record in horizontal orientation to ensure proper framing.
6. Give yourself time: Record your talent well in advance of the deadline to provide enough time for editing and trimming.
7. Supporting Materials:** Contestants should upload any supporting materials along with each video submission.
8. Be yourself**: Ultimately, the Miss Black USA Preliminary judges and audience respond best to acts that are unique and authentic. Be yourself, and showcase what makes you and your talent special.
